Formed in 1994, we are based in the centre of the village of Bishopton in Renfrewshire, Scotland. We play our home games on the former ROF fields and use the adjacent Bishopton Sports and Social club as our clubhouse
Bishopton 1st Xv – 1994
On the pitch side we field one womens team and two men’s teams. Our 1st XV mens team play in the Tennents West Division 1 league and 2nd in the reserve league. Our ladies team, currently play in the Tennents West Division 2 and national cup competition. We have a great blend of experienced and inexperienced players and although winning on the pitch is our main focus there is a great effort made to ensure we have fun doing it!
Our womens team finished 2nd in their league and our men finished as champions, including back to back promotion victories into West Division 1.
We pride ourselves on our club and community spirit and although only a small club we have great ambition and aspirations. In season 2009/10 we successfully launched new mini and midi rugby sections and in 2010/11 we added the micro-rugby section, and with our continuous growth, we were proud to launch our Ladies section in 2018 and for those not looking for contact, we launched our touch rugby section in 2021. We have an over 35s / 2nd XV mens team that meet for social rugby with our 2nd team now joining in the reserve league for seasion 2024/25.
We are currently engaged in an aggressive facilities upgrade programme and have a great social calendar to make sure the club is as dynamic off the field as it is on it. This is an exciting time for Bishopton Rugby and we would love you to be a part of it, either as a player or supporter.
