Where are my donations going?
EBI Unites is a community pantry and resilience project based in Erskine covering Renfrewshire, offering free crisis food support to families through their food bank. No referral is needed, they work on a trust basis and welcome anyone in need to their walk-in centre based in Erskine Church of the Nazarene – you only have to ask for Donna and rest assured, you’ll be in good hands. Their absolute aim in life, is to offer a dignified service to families at their time of crisis – and they’ve got you covered!
They also offer a walk-in subsidised pantry/supermarket to everyone who visits – here you can pick up free bread, bakery, fruit and vegetable products. You can also purchase food and other essentials at discount prices – no membership is required. The money raised from this part of the project is an invaluable contribution towards their monthly rental cost for the premises at the church. Shoppers can also be assured of playing their part in saving the local environment since many products are surplus items from local supermarkets which would have been destined for landfill. These goods are safe for your family to enjoy, even if the best before date may have been exceeded.
EBI receives the food bank donation trolly from Morrisons
On top of all this, they also provide meals for older adults who live alone who enjoy the company of our volunteers – these meals are provided for us by the team at The Beardmore Hotel in Clydebank. Their distribution depot is based at Barnhill Farm – where James and the team are an integral part of their operation – his kindness is so appreciated and these premises are provided free of charge.
