Sunday was also a success for our Midi Girls, who travelled to Irvine Rugby Club for a Development Day. The girls played 3 games as a mixed team with Paisley, Kilmarnock and Hamilton. It was one of the girls very first game of rugby and Emma played with determination. The girls started against a tough Cartha side, built like giants, but quickly found their feet as a team and scored nine tries in 20 minutes which was still not enough to win the match! Two further games followed with tries being scored by each team one after another.

It was a great day to showcase girls rugby and the growth of the game. With thanks to East Kilbride who did a great job of putting on the event and managing a really enjoyable day.
This is just the start for our newly formed under 12 and under 14 sides, with more development days to follow. The girls are now taking a well earned break for a few weeks but will return to their Tuesday training from 6-7pm after summer and would love to welcome some new faces!
