With a new Lockdown looming and open-air exercise being one of the only ways to keep yourself fit and sane in the coming weeks in the run up to Christmas. Bishopton Rugby are still going to be continuing to meet and train on Saturday mornings at Holmpark, Bishopton and are looking to welcome anyone looking to give the sport a try the chance to get involved in something new in these trying times.
Training is continuing under strict adherence to the social distancing and hygiene standards laid down by the SRU and the Scottish Government.
Last night we had 18 players at our Gents First XV training working hard on improving their key skills and fitness on the long road back to competitive rugby. But also helping keep the spirits high in the current climate.
Although times have been tough since training began this season, we have welcomed 6 new recruits and 3 returning players two of whom are former age group representative players who have returned to help their home club in its mission to move up the leagues.
As a club we are always on the lookout for new players and those looking to return to the game after some time away. If you are unsure about the rough and tumble of competitive rugby this great time to get involved with the current training restrictions in place form the SRU and Government to try something new!
If you are looking to get involved, please contact us via social media or contact Head Coach Franklin Clark on 07928666598 or at franklin@clarkprinting.co.uk.
With today’s announcement that the competitive season for 2020-2021 will not be going ahead we are hugely saddened by this this news but it not going to slow down progress towards the restart of competition!
