Further to the recent communication regarding the introduction of Non Verbal commands by the referee at the throw in to the scrum, Scottish Rugby has reviewed the the process as described by the IRB and following feedback from a number of sources now instruct clubs, schools and all referees to implement the following change with immediate effect:

For ALL rugby played at U18 and below the referee will make use of the verbal command “yes 9” when instructing the scrum half to throw the ball into the scrum. The engagement procedure remains unchanged – “ Crouch – Bind – Set”
