Quiz Night – Sat. 26th Oct. 13

After a 1 year sabbatical, the legendary Bishopton RFC Quiz Night is back on Saturday 26th October in the Sports & Social Club starting at 7.30pm. This is one of the best nights of the year and helps to fund lots of the things we enjoy as players, supporters and parents. You don’t need to have a team, you can join with others on the night. The quiz will be followed by a disco hosted by Renfrewshire’s fattest…sorry finest DJ’s. Hot food will also be included for the ridiculously under priced sum of £5.

We sold out and filled the hall, last time, so book early.

Please contact Alan if you have any Quiz or raffle prizes you can donate. It’s a big event for the club and the community so lets make it a great one.

  1. So another Bishopton RFC Quiz Night has ended. I’m pleased to say that we have raised just over £830 which will be put to good use and help to ensure our Rugby for all ages remains free. A few thanks you to make , firstly to our younger 1st XV players who came and helped sell raffle tickets and helped with the atmosphere in their own unique way.

Also a personal thanks to Michael and Eilleen Bray for helping make sure there was some food to eat to soak up some of the alcohol. Also an apology also to anyone who had trouble getting settled initially with chairs and tables. We had a little more turn up that we were expecting . It think we sorted it out in the end but might need to look at a bigger venue for next year. As you heard from the words ( those you could make out that is !! ) from Graham our President were going from strength to strength and that can only be achieved with the support of all the parents , players and coaches and we hope we never take that support for granted.

In true Bishopton fashion a big mention needs to be made to our 1st XV coach Derek McGowan who won the Scotland vs South Africa tickets with a bid of £130.00. The fact he then swapped these for another raffle prize which then turned out to be the one he donated and he’s now down £130 for a golf game he already had AND now needs to buy 2 tickets for the Rugby now should in no way negate that generosity . But it does give us all a laugh!!!!……………….

Stand by in November for details of our spring event. We’re planning something a bit different and special !!!!
