Bishopton Micro Rugby – Ages (4-7 years)

Season 2017-2018 is about to get underway!! The season kicked off with the ALL the junior sections on Sunday 13th August at 11am. It was great to see lots of enthusiastic children keen to get stuck into another year of fun, action and a wee bit of competition. The coaches have a pile of new games and ideas, we have some great fixtures lined up and expectation is high for another fab year.

This season we will be splitting into two ‘terms’, the first takes us from August up to December 10th, we take a four week break while the snow is here and resume on Sunday 14th January.

On training days, the micro rugby section meets on Sunday at 11:00am.

Bishopton Rugby Club takes pride in offering FREE junior rugby training and stands by our mission “Rugby for all ages”. All of our training is run by accredited coaches with the Micro Section welcoming children from 4 years (pre-school) to Primary 1 age. Each session run for about 45 minutes and are focused on developing physical confidence by working on basic running, jumping, kicking, throwing and catching skills in a series of fun, non-contact games. Places will be limited to 10 children per coach, if you are interested in registering your child then please let us know by sending an email to micro@bishoptonrugby.com

Ready to Play

  • Old clothes you don’t mind getting dirty / muddy
  • Waterproofs (and a towel for the car seat) if wet
  • Trainers if dry, wellies if wet (indoor training in winter)
  • We subsidise playing tops if you wish to buy for £20
  • Water bottle (please avoid high energy drinks)
  • Enthusiasm – it is the greatest asset in the world – Herm Albright

    Boot Bin

When your child gets too big for their boots and have no-one to pass them on to, we have a “boot bin”. Any boots, in reasonable condition, can be donated to the club and used by a new set of feet. With little feet growing fast, it can be costly to keep their boots fitting correctly. We hope this helps and by giving a little donation to the club for each pair taken, means we can pay for new equipment, indoor winter training and subsidise playing tops.

    Keen to Help

Interested in helping? We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help out with the coaching, both on a weekly or just an occasional basis when time allows. If you feel you would like to join us in this very rewarding venture then please let us know and we will arrange the coaching courses! coaching@bishoptonrugby.com
