Bishopton Rugby Newsletter

December 2018

Dear Member,

Hello, the season is underway and boy do we have a load of rugby to play! All this along with the continuing training and development of our players and a little bit of social event organising to do. I'd like to say a big thank you to all that attended the junior start up and an even bigger one to all our coaches and volunteers for making it such a fantastic day, it was even sunny! We could still do with more of your help, as we're becoming a real big club! Have you ever thought of becoming a club member or joining the committee?

Please, read on to see what's been happening and what's coming up...

Message from our President

It was a pleasure to see so many of you down at the junior section start up in August. What a turn out, this just shows how large we are growing as a rugby club, absolutely fabulous! Thanks to the volunteers that kept the food and drinks flowing all afternoon.

You may have seen me down on the tractor cutting the pitch. This is thanks to a new set of mowers we've recently purchased to help improve the playing surface. With more games being played this season, we need to look after our little pitch. We've also managed to regain much more area for training etc.

I was delighted to hear that Ruriah Taylor has progressed through our coaching system and had his debut in the 1st XV this season. Also the continuing success of Callum and Rory, getting selected for the Glasgow Warriors U16 Academy. A big well done to all three of you.

If you aren't already a member of the Sports and Social Club, you can join via the Rugby Section. This gives you access to the main club and the use of its facilities, not bad for £40 a year!

Finally, I hope to see you all down at our next social event, details will follow soon.

Thanks as ever, G Adam.
